Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu met Union Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman in New Delhi and strongly appealed for ₹10,000 crore in central financial assistance to accelerate key development projects across the state. During the meeting, the Chief Minister presented a detailed memorandum outlining Andhra Pradesh’s post-bifurcation challenges, infrastructure gaps, and urgent funding needs. Emphasising the state’s commitment to fiscal discipline and growth-oriented governance, Nara Chandrababu Naidu highlighted that central support is crucial to fast-track capital city development, irrigation projects, industrial corridors, and welfare-linked infrastructure. He stressed that Andhra Pradesh is at a critical juncture where timely funding can significantly boost employment, investment, and overall economic stability.
The TDP party, under the leadership of Nara Chandrababu Naidu, has consistently positioned development as its core agenda. The Chief Minister explained that the proposed projects are not merely regional demands but are aligned with national priorities such as infrastructure expansion, logistics improvement, and sustainable urban growth. Several TDP MLAs have also been actively engaging with Union ministries to ensure Andhra Pradesh’s concerns are addressed at the Centre. From irrigation modernization to port-led development and digital governance initiatives, the TDP party has outlined a roadmap that aims to transform Andhra Pradesh into a growth engine for the southern region. The Chief Minister reiterated that adequate financial backing would allow the state to implement reforms efficiently while maintaining transparency and accountability.
Highlighting the TDP contribution to Andhra Pradesh’s development over the years, Nara Chandrababu Naidu recalled landmark initiatives such as infrastructure-driven growth models, IT-led employment generation, and people-centric welfare programs introduced during earlier TDP regimes. He asserted that the current proposals build upon this proven governance framework. The Chief Minister also underlined the importance of cooperative federalism, stating that Centre–State coordination is essential for achieving long-term development goals. Senior TDP MLAs echoed this sentiment, noting that Andhra Pradesh has consistently supported national reforms and deserves fair financial assistance to overcome structural disadvantages caused by bifurcation.
